Jeff Heys

My current research focuses on computational biofluid dynamics including problems where there is a mechanical coupling between the moving fluid and a tissue. The computational tools used to solve these problems include immersed boundary methods, spectral element methods, and Markov chain processes. Problems of current interest include the cricket sensory system with the objective that improving our understanding of the cricket's flow sensor will enable the design of better artificial micro-flow sensors.
